"New" Suzuki Address scooter

You know the new modell, the 110cc scooter "UK110". We rode together.
But there has been a previous Suzuki Address scooter, the "FL125".
(And before there was yet another Suzuki Address scooter, the "AH50". I try to get it too.) :bang!:

The FL125 has the typical Asian 4 speed semi automatic. That means automatic clutch. You can approach a stop in 4th gear, and when you have stopped, upshift (!) from 4 to Neutral to 1, ... (or downshift all the way, but 4-N-1 is more convenient.)
On a similar type I made my very first motorcycle rides (in S-Asia too).
Due to the big wheels (17") the "helmet compartment" is just suitable for a bicycle helmet and the fuel tank holds only 4 litres (UK110 with 14": modular helmet and 5 litres).

I plan to use this scooter for the west alpine gravel roads, to Col Sommeiller etc., because of its big wheels and less plastic to damage.

Yes, this type can be seen everywhere in the trafficjams all over Asia.
What is the poweroutput of the 125 cc in comparison of the 110?

The UK110 has 6.7 kW and the FL125 6.9 kW, both @ 8000rpm, so both about 9 hp.
Torque 8.6 Nm @ 6000 rpm vs 9.3Nm @ 6500 rpm.
Both have the same topspeed (95km/h).
It's a little bit difficult to compare furthermore, because neither dashboard indicates rpm. And one of them has gears instead of a CVT.
The FL125 weighs a little more (109kg fueled), due to its big wheels.
Both climb surprisingly well for their small displacement.

Yes, amazing how strong these small engines perform.
My 1962 Zündapp Bella 154 R had a 150 cc two stroke engine with 5.4 kW, four shift gears and empty weight 148 Kilo’s and top speed 80 km/h Odometer. (75 real)
And I drove relaxed on the motorway in those days.

And nowadays 9 hp is still a very moderate output for 125cc.
I wonder, why a 150cc 2 stroke got only 7 hp. Maybe in those days they had very strict emission norms. :schater:

Yes, the 125 cc max. for license A1 in NL now is: 11 kW = 14,98 Hp., as my Medley has.

But in those days the same scooter had at 200 cc 7.4 kW is 10 HP!
And the Heinkel 175 cc four stroke scooter also just 10 Hp.

So my 150 cc with its 7.4 HP was so much stronger than the 50 cc Mopeds at that time.
As an 18 years old lad, it gave me a huge advantage over my friends with there Mopeds. :mrgreen:
They had average 1,7 until 2,5 HP max in 1962.

And i could drive on the motorways instead of the bicycle road.

If it's a motorway, then your bike was indeed fast enough. ;)
