From my home (Ludwigshafen a.R.) it is 200km to Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, where the famous "Route des Cretes" starts.
Yesterday I went with the Suzuki FL125.
Not my bike
Washing facilities in the mountains
Unfortunately the weather forced me to go home, I didn't want a bivouac in the rain.
Imho interesting is the comparison with other small vehicles.
In every case nearly on the same streets (no highway), but of course sometimes with detours and different traffic, and of course pauses.
So the time differences are subject to random fluctuations, but give some hint.
More important the fuel consumption in relation to the time needed.
Baotian Ecobike (chinese 50cc 4 stroke carburator, variomatic, 58 kph) 363 minutes, 1.52 litre/100km average.
Motorhispania RYZ SM 50 (2-stroke carb, 6-speed, 65kph) 319 min, 3.68 litre /100km. (Thirsty! )
Suzuki UK110 (4 stroke fi, variomatic, 95kph) 269 min, 2.05 litre /100km.
Suzuki FL125 (4 stroke fi, 4-speed, 95kph) 253 min, 1.75 litre /100km.
The 2-stroke carb. does obviously not fit in our modern world.
