True, but there are still many Dutch people who bring up the war when they are mad at German people. I generally don't, exactly because of the reasons you gave.
I'm not exactly sure what the complete story is though, as it is some 10+ years ago, but I think it had to do with the main gate being closed in the evening. I was finally weighing after loading for 8/9 hours, got into the office, apparently missed a certain type of paperwork, had to drive all the way to the other side of the plant to get it, drove back and they refused to give me my papers because they were now closed and I had yet again find a night-gate or something. As I said, I don't remember exactly, but at some point I completely freaked out, because they could have helped me if they wanted, but they just sent me around the plant several times and you know how big it is, like a village. And there was nothing wrong with my manners or German.
