New electric ride: UNU Rebell 2

Bericht#1 » 10 mar 2025, 23:20

For daily errands, I got an electric scooter. 8000km old, 2kW Bosch rear wheel motor (also available with 3 and 4kW, but I got the cheapest variant), 2 batteries, minor damages, 500€.

I usually keep 1 battery and the charger at home to save weight and volume. If you have to switch the batteries during a ride, you have to stop the vehicle and manually switch the connector.
A battery weights 10kg and has 1.4kWh. Officially 50km range per battery, but that is - as usual - extremely optimistic. Unfortunately range tests will lead to a deep discharge and damage, so I don't plan to test that.
The speedometer is extremely accurate. Indicated 47 is 47 on the GPS too.

I had to replace the front bulb. Not a big deal.
Standard tires are Heidenau K50. Fortunately not from China.

A carrier rack is standard. Very convenient.

that's a good alternative. It looks like copy of the vespa. Very nice. How fast can it go? And how many hours do you need to chaege the batteries? I heard that in Germany the eletricity price is very expensive. In the end, what would it be cheaper... an electrical scooter with a huge eletricity bill or gasoline?

Top speed is 47kph.
Good is the full power from the very beginning, no matter how the weather is. Just 1 second for the boot up sequence and you can go.
Very convenient for short errands and shopping. Also most shops are nearby (1-4km) and a combustion engine wouldn't warm up completely.

1 - 1.5 hours charge (household outlet 230V) from half to full, I didn't stop the time, just looked after 1 hour (not full yet) and 1.5 hours.
We have free charging stations for E-bikes who have just a small removable battery. These are public lockers with an outlet inside each compartment.
With our current standard house electricity (38.83 Cent/kWh) and the ADAC test consumption of 3.4kWh/100km, 100km would cost 1.30€ electric energy. But the biggest cost item for electric vehicles is depreciation of the battery.
I would not have bought it for 2000€. But 500€ is worth a try. Each battery would cost 800€ new.

In general, all energy is expensive. The politicians need money. If everyone drives/rides electric and there is less tax revenue from petrol/diesel/gas/.., the politicians will find other ways to charge. In the same way they also outlawed the E85 and E100 petrol, which was not covered by the standard petrol tax.

Form follows function. A crate of beer (etc.) fits in the footwell.
Try this with your Runner!
